A native of Chesterfield County Virginia, Erna Gilliam Robinson fifth of ten siblings and the daughter of the late Herbert F. Sr. & Erner V. Mason Gilliam. Erna is a proud graduate of G. W. Carver High School and studied in her earlier years at Virginia State College (University) majoring in Business Administration. She received various Contract Certifications through John Tyler Community College (NIGP), Virginia Commonwealth University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religious Studies from Slidell Baptist Theological Seminary located in Slidell Louisiana.
Erna is a leading procurement, contracting and independent training consultant with a vibrant track record of addressing the needs of the Small and Minority Business Contractors through the maze of simplifying the public and private sector bidding process. Erna has over 30 years of experience in the field of Procurement and Contract Management. Retired after 26 years of service as Director of Procurement Services from the City of Richmond, Virginia. Recipient Department of General Services Outstanding Employee Service Award.
Currently serves as a board member, Children’s Home of Virginia Baptist (BGC). President and CEO EGRobinson @Associates, LLC. Vice President and Membership Chair of the Petersburg Chapter of the Links Incorporated. Cabinet member/Corresponding Secretary of the George Washington Carver High School Alumni and Friends Association. Member of the Chesterfield County Historical Society (AAHC) and member of Martha Mason Hill Foundation. EDGEntertainment, LLC -Board Member/Board Secretary.
Erna is a lifetime member of the Union Branch Baptist Church, Chesterfield, Virginia and a member City of Hope Mass Choir, the Women’s Fellowship, Special Events and Missionary Ministries. She also serves as the Church Historian.
Erna is the proud parent of two adult children, Ericka and Charles W. Robinson Jr., and proud grandparent of five; Jessica, Jhane, Taje, Abigail and Ever. Mother-in-law to Gores Carr and Johnetta Cook-Robinson. Erna Gilliam Robinson is a blessed child of God and offers all honor, glory and praise to Him who is truly the head of her life. One of her many motto’s that she lives by: “The one who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones.”
