Our Story
The Baptist Center of Virginia, Inc. (formerly The Children’s Home of Virginia Baptists) is on a mission to restore our 251-acre campus into a thriving community hub and to provide safe, stable housing and life-changing support for youth transitioning out of foster care. Your donation today directly strengthens our programs for youth, families, and seniors — and helps us preserve and revitalize a campus that has served the community for over 75 years.

The Lagoon has been upgraded with a new bridge. As part of the Department of Environmental Quality standards, weekly meter readings are required. The bridge was replaced to ensure safety for the attendants.

The sewage/underground plumbing has been replaced. Renovations to the cottages was placed "on hold" until this infrastructure upgrade was completed.

MLK DAY OF SERVICE - A GROWING TRADITION AT THE CENTER
HONORING THE KING!
Martin Luther King Day of Service has become a tradition at the Center. We partner with Virginia State University, Chesterfield County, The City of Petersburg and a variety of local businesses and organizations. These groups help clean, mow, rake and a variety of other projects around the grounds.
VOLUNTEER

Ongoing Programs
Chosen 1 Academy
The Chosen 1 Generation is a sports training program housed onsite at the Children's Home in the Ritchie Multipurpose Center.
Christmas Blessings
Each year, The Baptist Center of Virginia, Inc. partners with Petersburg Social Services to provide food & items to families in need. Volunteers prepare boxes containing either a turkey or ham; fruit, vegetables, dry and canned goods for at least two hearty meals during the Christmas season.
